The room had a decent size, which made it comfortable for our stay. It was available with a self-service station stocked with essentials, which was a nice touch.

The self check-in process left us without sight of any staff until late afternoon, which felt strange. The elevator seemed to only accommodate our luggage, and we had to manage our bags up to the fourth floor ourselves. The lobby looked unkept, with a less-than-welcoming appearance that detracted from the overall feel. The bathroom had a lip at the entrance that caused a couple of stubbed toes, and the lack of safety catches on the windows raised some concerns.

Staying at Goldener Stern was quite enjoyable due to its seamless contactless check-in and great location, just a couple of blocks from Chapel Bridge. The room felt spacious, beautifully decorated, with modern amenities like an electric kettle and a flat-screen TV. I appreciated having an extra duvet available when the heater didn’t work initially. I received quick help through WhatsApp but preferred to have the heater fully functional without needing to reach out. However, the lack of air conditioning was a significant drawback, especially on warmer nights. it got quite hot, particularly on the fourth floor. Noise from the bar below during the daytime was manageable, but it would’ve been better to find some soundproofing for the rooms for quieter nights. Enjoyed the self-service station stocked with essentials, but a little more attention to cleanliness, like ensuring previous items are removed from amenities, would enhance the experience tremendously.

Free Wi-Fi was reliable, and the bar had a cozy vibe. No lift to upper floors.

Our stay was fantastic, especially the comfy bed and the high-quality linens! Unfortunately, we heard our neighbors quite clearly. I'd choose this spot again for sure!
